The GoodLate last week we performed a major Gravity update. It involved a migration to new infrastructure and a lot of changes to the code base. These changes improve performance and stability of the system, and also fix a number of minor issues. We also released a brand new search implementation (long time coming, I know) that greatly improves (fixes?) searching across projects.
We are very excited about these improvements and we have a lot more planned for the next few months. We'll dedicate some more blog posts to these updates in the next weeks.
Our release and migration process did not go well. We expected very minimal downtime and almost no disruption to customers. Unfortunately, through out the release we suffered intermittent issues all across the site caused by faulty configurations and mistakes in the process. Since this released involved moving all of the data to new infrastructure, it was not practical to simply roll back the release hours after it happened at the risk of losing customer data.
I would like to apologize to our customers for the interruptions. We know that you rely on Gravity for your business and these interruptions can be very disruptive. It is not what we had planned and we can definitely do better.
We thank you for your patience, feedback, and continued support.
